i'm in awe that you're able to keep the legs straight. every time i try those tiny folds i smush the thing.

I used baking paper because being very thin, it allows to fold the legs properly. When I used normal copy paper the legs didn't turn out so well, look at this picture [link]

i never thought of baking paper. i've used origami paper mostly and i still can't get them clean.
